Free Taster Yoga Sessions for Adults with Autism and ADHD
A calm, welcoming space to move, breathe, relax and simply be yourself.
This free taster yoga session has been created especially for autistic adults, people with ADHD and others who identify as neurodivergent. Whether you are completely new to yoga or have practised before, you are warmly welcome.
The session offers an opportunity to step away from the demands of everyday life and, for a little while, let go of the need to mask, perform or fit in. Instead, you can simply arrive as you are and take part in a gentle, relaxed group practice alongside others.
A calm and sensory-friendly approach
The session will be deliberately calm, quiet and low-sensory. There will be no music and the lighting will be kept comfortable, creating a peaceful environment where you can focus on yourself and your own experience.
The yoga will include gentle movement, breathwork and meditative elements. Breathwork can be particularly helpful in supporting regulation, easing feelings of anxiety and helping to manage sensory overload, while meditation can provide a welcome pause from a busy or overactive mind.
There is no expectation to perform or get the postures ‘right’. Yoga is not about achieving a particular shape – it is about noticing how you feel, moving in a way that feels comfortable for your own body and discovering what helps you to feel more settled and at ease.
You are always encouraged to listen to your own needs and make choices that feel right for you.
Why Sally?
Sally brings both professional experience and personal understanding to her teaching. She was diagnosed as autistic herself 14 years ago and understands first-hand some of the challenges that neurodivergent people can experience, including masking, sensory overload and anxiety.
She is a 300-hour accredited yoga teacher with experience working with neurodiverse adults and is passionate about creating yoga spaces that feel safe, inclusive and accessible.
Her classes incorporate elements of yoga that can support both body and mind, including gentle movement, breathwork, relaxation and meditation.
Everyone is welcome
You don’t need to be flexible, fit or experienced in yoga. The session is suitable for all levels, including complete beginners.
There is no pressure to talk, interact or participate beyond what feels comfortable for you. You can simply come along, practise alongside the group and enjoy some time for yourself.
And if you’d like to stay afterwards, there will be an opportunity to have a cuppa, meet and connect with other group members, and ask Sally any questions about the practice or what future sessions might look like.
The session is completely FREE, but spaces are limited, so booking is essential.
Come along, take a breath, and discover how yoga might support you to feel a little calmer, more comfortable and more connected to yourself.
