Lauren Belle

Hello, my name is Lauren Belle and I am an experienced, inclusive and down-to-earth yoga teacher specialising in Hatha, Slow Flow and Yin yoga. I have experience delivering training to yoga teachers (how to safely include pregnant students in general class) and hold an advanced postnatal yoga teaching qualification.

Initially I trained in contemporary dance at Bretton Hall, which was in the middle of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. I worked as a community dance practitioner, performed in a semi-professional company and taught dance in education for many years. I have since worked in NHS-partnered mental health and addiction services.

I started practicing yoga here at Om in 2012. I was looking for something to help me de-stress from work, as at the time I was dealing with many emergency situations whilst supporting homeless men and women in Bradford. My nervous system was constantly on high-alert and doing yoga was like pressing the reset button. I found that yoga worked for me in so many other ways too and in 2018 I did my yoga teacher training in London & Spain. I have since taught in yoga studios, hospices, community centres and even woodlands!

I have recently finished a masters degree in Psychology, specialising in statistical research on the effects of yoga on self-awareness in general populations and adults with ADHD. My research showed that regular yoga practice improves interoception (our ability to notice bodily signals and emotions) in all adults.

I am very pleased to be teaching at Om Yoga, it’s like everything has come full circle.
