SUMMARY:Hatha Yoga - Wed Eve Claire
DESCRIPTION:Within Claire’s classes there are elements of the traditional Hatha Yoga practice interlaced with modern day theories and practices.\nClaire believes movement should be meaningful and have a purpose in our everyday lives allowing our bodies to function as they should. Classes will take the traditional form of settling\, asana (functional physical practice)\, pranayama (breathing practices) and finishing with deep relaxation. Classes follow themes to connect body\, mind and spirit\, these themes may link aspects of Yogic philosophy or anatomy. Claire’s area of expertise is the history and philosophy of the ancient practice of yoga so classes always reflect that by honouring Yoga’s roots. Each class becomes an experience of letting go\, connection and belonging\, to allow ourselves time to ‘just be’ and bring a little stillness into our minds and lives for the time we are together. \nThis class is suitable for all\, from beginners to the more experienced as the class is skilfully adapted to allow all to participate fully. Nothing special is required from you\, including clothing or equipment\, just something that allows movement and is comfortable to wear.  \n“In Yoga\, the discipline is our regular practice. We have particular tools that we use: asana\, working with the body\, pranayama\, working with the breath and meditation\, working with the mind. We also have ethics\, philosophy and service\, which allows us to work on our relationships with other people and the world around us. These are the tools of the yoga practitioner that we can use to create a practice that is of use to us\, so that we can be useful to the world” \nJivana Heyman ‘Yoga Revolution’

SUMMARY:Hatha Yoga - Thurs am Eleanor
DESCRIPTION:My classes will begin with settling into the space and connecting to the breath. We will then begin to gently warm up the body\, move into mindful standing sequences and balance and then come back down to the mat for some floor poses\, pranayama\, meditation and deep relaxation. \nI believe yoga should bring a sense of joy\, be accessible to all and be both energising and relaxing.\nMy type of yoga is kind. It’s not about making shapes on a mat but about how you feel in body\, mind and spirit. It’s about holding space to let go of what may be weighing us down and connect to our inner stillness. It’s also about gratitude for what our bodies can do and the many wonderful things about the world around us. \nClasses will combine elements of nature\, ancient yogic practices and a little bit of fun. \nBooking Essential

SUMMARY:Hatha Yoga - Evening Mel
DESCRIPTION:A weekly Hatha yoga class for those who are wanting to slow down and find a quiet space in which to move\, breathe and be. We will explore movements and yoga postures mindfully in order to develop greater awareness of how we move and breathe\, so that we can gradually find more helpful ways of moving and being in our bodies.\nThe class will include plenty of time in supine (lying down) to begin with\, exploring warming and releasing movements\, before moving on to more strengthening postures on all fours and in standing. Modifications and alternatives are offered for anybody working with an injury or limitation. \nThe class draws on a wide range of hatha yoga practices\, including active and restorative yoga postures\, breathing practices and meditation. I also at times weave in practices from other mind/body modalities that I find to be beneficial in my own practice\, including somatics\, daoist yoga\, Qi-Gong and Mindfulness. \nThis class is for anyone wanting to ease their way into movement\, start or re-start a yoga practice\, those who may be struggling with fatigue\, stress/burnout\, people who are recovering from injury or illness\, or those who simply prefer a slower approach to yoga. \nBooking Essential
