You are only as young as your spine is flexible.  Bob Harper \nA 6 week course for a maximum of 9 participants.  You will learn how to improve your back health and how to maintain a good healthy functional spine. \nDo you have lower back pain? Has someone made you aware your posture isn’t quite right? \nDo you struggle to put your socks and shoes on? Feel uncomfortable sitting upright? If so\, this course is definitely for you! \nThe course is still for you if your back is absolutely fine and you want to make sure that you are tooled up to keep it that way. \nThe sessions will be informative and interactive. You will be prompted to take notes\, ask questions and practice at home. \nThere will be loads of observations made by you\, on you\, you will discover ways to move your unique body which supports you the best! \nAttention will be given to the breath and tools to aid your ability to relax will be shared. \nAll props will be available and some props are included in the price for you to take home and keep… and practice with!

DESCRIPTION:Have you ever felt that you cannot decide between sweet or savoury\, fast or slow strong or gentle\, strength or stretch\, Yin or Yang? \nThese opposites are wonderful on their own but wouldn’t it be even better to experience the synergy of both? \nAndrea’s Yin Yang Yoga class combines both elements\, strength and stretch\, movement and stillness into a well-balanced practice to experience the powerful effect of this synergy on our mind and body and to increase our energy and wellbeing.\nThe classes are tailored to the seasons and the participants needs. Sometimes Andrea will begin with yin yoga postures and work with cold muscles to target the deep\, dense connective tissues and joints in the body before she introduces a yang style flow to strengthen and build stamina. At other times the class will begin with a more dynamic yang flow and finish with longer held poses to relax and calm the nervous system. \n“The practice of yin yang yoga helps us learn about stillness in movement and the flow in stillness.” Sarah Powers \nAll are welcome to join Andrea on Saturday mornings fortnightly at 10.00am for 1.5 hours of delicious practice.

DESCRIPTION:Family Yoga is AWESOME!\nIn a world where parents and children are so busy and stressed family yoga provides a wonderful place to spend healthy and happy\, quality time together. \nNo mobile phones\, no iPads or TV\, no other duties…it’s just you and your child/ren. \nFamily is so important\, and time and care are needed to nurture it and make it work; yoga is perfect for this! Children\, parents\, and even grandparents get to enjoy practicing yoga together and strengthen their bonds while they support each other and have fun. \nThe Importance of Play \nIn the constant struggle to juggle all of the responsibilities with the numerous things parents need to do to care for their children we often overlook one of the most important thing we can do for our children and that is quality time spent with them. Having a good conversation\, chat with them -no matter the age children love sharing their stories\, playing with them\, moving around with them\, crafting with them or just relaxing with them. Children love attention and when this attention is given by spending quality time together is priceless. \nFamily yoga teaches parents how to play with their children\, how to talk about important stuff such as feelings and emotions\, also how to relax with them. \nBridging The Gap \nFamily yoga is very special; it is a rare opportunity for both parents and children to observe and learn from each other and a great way to bridge the  age difference between them. \nWhile playing yoga together as a family\, we exchange roles a lot. For example\, while doing Dog Pose\, parents\, who are usually the leaders\, get to be led on a dog walk by their children. Children\, who are usually the receivers\, get to give to their parents when they massage them while in relaxation. \n\nParents get to see how their children learn and how they interact with other children and adults. And children get to see their parents as learners\, something that doesn’t happen very often\, setting a great example for their children.\nUntil a certain age children think that their parents are superhuman; that they never get tired\, never run out of time or money\, and that there is nothing that they can’t do. It is good for the children to realize that their parents are not perfect.\nThere are many poses that the children can do and the parents can’t\, and some activities that the children can do better than the parents. This humanizes the parent and eases the pressure that their children’s expectations can create.\n\nIn addition to all of the other great benefits of yoga\, all of these gestures help to relieve tension in the parent/child relationship.
